The earlier version described Grok 4.1 (Nov 2025) and claimed a #1 LMArena position; that late-2025 claim is removed. xAI’s docs show Grok 4.5 (July), 4.6 (August) and Grok 4.7 (September 2026) as the current line. Grok 5 has no release evidence.

Corporate context

• SpaceX acquired xAI on 2026-02-02 (primary, re-fetched 2026-10-02: x.ai/news/xai-joins-spacex says “SpaceX announced today that it has acquired xAI”; the page gives no terms. • “Grok 4.7 Fast” is the same model at a premium rate (2x the standard price, 1.5x for long context), available only in Cursor and Grok Build, not the public API.
