xAI (SpaceXAI)
xAI is the AI company reportedly founded by Elon Musk on 2023-03-09 (Palo Alto, per Wikipedia) that builds the Grok models. It has gone through two mergers: it absorbed X (Twitter) in 2025, then was itself acquired by SpaceX in 2026 and renamed SpaceXAI.
Leadership
Standalone CEO not identified in the sources consulted. Michael Nicolls (formerly SpaceX’s Starlink vice president) became president on 2026-04-10; by March 2026 about half of the co-founders had reportedly left, the last being Ross Nordeen (all Wikipedia, secondary).
