tsParticles
A TypeScript particle library, dependency-free in its core, with official components for many frameworks. Part of Open-source motion studio: 20 repos.
Checked 2026-10-27 against the GitHub repository, its README, and the npm or PyPI registry where relevant.
| Runtime | Browser canvas. |
| How an agent drives it | Config object, which is easy for an agent to write. Particle motion is wall-clock driven, so frame-exact capture needs a host that controls time (assessment). |
| License | MIT. |
| Maintenance | Latest release v4.4.0, 2026-08-31; npm tsparticles 4.5.0 published 2026-10-25; repo pushed 2026-10-26; not archived. |
What it gives you
- Input: a JSON-style options object describing emitters, shapes, movement and interactions; presets exist. Output: a canvas effect (confetti, snow, links and so on).
- Official packages for Angular, Astro, React, Vue, Svelte, Solid, jQuery and others.
Key differentiator
Config-driven particle effects with many presets and framework wrappers; no shader work needed. Source: README.
Pick something else when
A custom particle system in Three.js when particles must live in a 3D scene. Remotion or HyperFrames catalog blocks when a ready-made effect already exists. See the effects comparison.
Agent fit
Good for decoration: a single options object is an easy agent target, as long as the capture host steps time.
Overlap with the rest of the stack
Overlaps Three.js particle systems; independent of the other 19 otherwise.
