eyaltoledano/claude-task-master: ~28.1k stars; licence MIT with Commons Clause (not plain MIT: you may not sell it or offer it as a hosted service). Works as an MCP server exposing 36 tools; TASK_MASTER_TOOLS selects modes core (~5k tokens), standard (~10k) or all (~21k). Needs an API key for one of Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Perplexity, xAI or OpenRouter, unless using the Claude Code CLI. Integrations listed: Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, Claude Code, Lovable, Roo. Note: the original text calls MCP “Model Control Protocol”; the correct expansion is Model Context Protocol (see model-context-protocol).
