Orchids.app
by Orchids (founders and Y Combinator batch reported only by secondary sources; not verified)
Per the vendor, an AI app builder / IDE for web apps, mobile apps, Chrome extensions, Slack bots, agents and CLI tools, driven by chat plus visual editing.
Summary
Orchids is an “AI full-stack engineer” environment: you describe an app, it generates frontend and backend code, database schema, auth and integrations, with a visual editor for picking and tweaking UI elements. Secondary sources (vantaige.io, makerstack.co) report a 1.0 release in February 2026 that widened scope to mobile apps, Chrome extensions, Slack bots, AI agents and CLI tools. Some secondary reviews report a bring-your-own-subscription option (connecting an existing ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or GitHub Copilot plan); this is not confirmed on the vendor docs, which list no such option.
Features
- Chat-driven coding agent, with visual selection and editing of UI elements
- Full-stack scaffolding (React/Next.js, backend logic, database and auth); secondary reviews also list Python, Swift and Flutter targets
- Clone a site by URL as a design starting point
- Code export to continue outside Orchids; integrations with Supabase (DB, auth) and Stripe (payments) are described in vendor-oriented material (not verified)
- Credit-based usage (vendor docs call them credits; “roughly one English word per credit”)
Plans (docs.orchids.app/plans-and-token-usage, fetched 2026-10-02)
| Plan | Credits per month |
|---|---|
| Free | not listed on the docs page (the docs list no free tier); a May 2026 secondary review reports 100K tokens per day, unverified |
| Pro | 2M |
| Premium | 4M |
| Ultra | 12M |
| Max | 30M |
Annual billing is discounted. The old note’s Ultra “unlimited sites”, Pro “10 deployed sites” and Premium “25 sites” limits are not on the current docs page and are dropped. Example usage per docs: simple edit 100 to 500 credits, a page about 1,000, a game about 20k, a complex app about 30k. Current prices: see the vendor pricing page https://orchids.app/pricing (the orchids.app pricing page returned HTTP 503 on 2026-10-02).
Where it fits
Compare lovable, v0, Bolt.new and replit. One secondary review (makerstack.co) rates it around 7/10, calls it “a 1.0 product with rough edges on complex projects” and reports credits consumed quickly on ambitious builds (opinion).
Privacy and security
No SOC 2/ISO certification, data-retention or model-training statement was found in the pages reviewed; check the Privacy Policy and Terms before sending sensitive code. Where production data sits was not verified.
Company and funding
Funding figures from secondary sources conflict, so no figure or date is asserted here.
