Synara
Per its README, a free, open-source, local-first desktop workspace (“control plane”) for coding agents. It does not run its own model: it drives agent runtimes you already have installed and logged in, and organises work as projects and threads, each with its own provider session.
- Maker: individual developer Emanuele-web04 (GitHub user); site trysynara.com. No company note exists.
- Licence / cost: MIT, free; no Synara account or cloud workspace. Per the README, provider traffic goes direct to each provider’s backend.
- Platforms: macOS (arm64/x64), Windows x64, Linux (AppImage), per release assets.
- Supported agents (README): Codex (CLI / app-server), Claude Code, Cursor agent, Antigravity CLI, Grok Build, Factory Droid, OpenCode, Pi, Devin CLI.
- Features: managed Git worktrees for parallel tasks, built-in terminal, browser preview (with WebMCP tools for agents), diffs and PR delivery, file editor, split views and device previews, provider handoff mid-task, automations (recurring runs), external MCP access.
- Maturity: early-stage by its own README (“APIs and interface details remain under active development”). Repo created 2026-03-27; latest release v0.9.2 (2026-09-25).
- Versus similar tools: in the author’s view, similar in feel to the Codex desktop app (OpenAI Codex app) but multi-provider; compare Waku, MonoCode, Ghostex.

- Author identity beyond the GitHub handle not verified. Several lookalike forks and an unrelated “minimal web GUI” repo share the name Synara; the canonical repo is the one linked from trysynara.com.
