Instinct

by Spear Street Technology, Inc. (founder Noah Shinn, ex-Sierra)

An invite-only personal AI agent you talk to like a person — over iMessage, WhatsApp, or phone call — that runs on a persistent cloud computer with cached credentials and browser access, so it can carry multi-day projects across email, calendar, and payments without re-explanation each time. Pitched as “OpenClaw for normal people”: the agency of a self-hosted agent like OpenClaw without any setup/configuration overhead.

Not multiplayer — single continuous assistant

Despite surface similarity to Grok Bot (both are persistent cloud agents that
connect to real email, calendars, files, and payment methods, and keep working
unsupervised), Instinct is explicitly single-assistant, not multi-agent or
multiplayer
. You have one continuous relationship with one assistant — the opposite
architectural choice from Grok Bot, which is built around spinning up several named bots
that each own a standing job and coordinate with each other. Instinct does not fit this
vault’s Multiplayer AI category (session memory shared across multiple
participants) — it’s a single-user, single-agent product.

Capabilities

Appointment booking, bill negotiation, vendor coordination, email follow-up, ticket
monitoring, subscription audits. Runs on a persistent cloud computer with cached
credentials and browser access — an example cited is one user logging 677 messages over
5 days across 15 finished jobs. Spear Street’s terms grant Instinct binding authority to
”enter into binding agreements, commitments, and transactions” on the user’s behalf.

Access & business model

Invite-only private beta, free during beta; no public pricing announced (both
subscriptions and data-driven advertising are floated as possible future models). Runs
only on Spear Street’s infrastructure — no self-hosting option, unlike OpenClaw.

Funding

Raised a 2.5B valuation (2026-08-26) — a notable valuation for a
still-invite-only product.

Biggest competitor

Meta Muse (the personal-agent app, launched 2026-09-08) — Meta
ships the same “always-on personal agent” bet with the full weight of Meta’s consumer
distribution behind it (native apps, muse.ai, and direct WhatsApp integration reaching
billions of existing users), against Instinct’s invite-only startup scale. The two take
different behavioral bets — Instinct is ambient/proactive (follows up on dropped threads
unprompted), Meta Muse is reactive/goal-oriented (executes stated goals, returns for
approval) — but on reach and resources, Meta Muse is Instinct’s most consequential rival.

  • Meta Muse (Personal Agent App) — biggest competitor, see above
  • Grok Bot — another comparison point; opposite architectural choice
    (single assistant vs. multi-bot team)
  • OpenClaw — the self-hosted agent category Instinct positions itself as a
    no-setup alternative to
  • Gemini Spark — Google’s equivalent always-on personal agent
  • Multiplayer AI — category Instinct does not belong to, despite the
surface resemblance to other 2026 personal-agent launches
