Updated 2026-09-30

Conductor began (Dec 2025) as a Gemini CLI extension. Gemini CLI was sunset on 2026-06-18 and replaced by Antigravity CLI (see Google Antigravity IDE). The repo is still active (last push 2026-09-01, not archived) but is now described as “a plugin for AI coding agents (Antigravity, Claude Code)“. The Gemini CLI install command below no longer applies.

Measure twice, code once: context-driven development for AI coding agents.

See https://github.com/gemini-cli-extensions/conductor | Launch blog post

Features

  • Context-driven development: moves context out of chat into persistent Markdown files in the repo (Context → Spec & Plan → Implement).
  • Specs and plans before implementation; brownfield support; shared project context (product goals, tech stack, workflow).
  • Git-aware revert by track/phase/task; checkpoint and resume.

Commands (current README)

/conductor:conductor-setupInitial project scaffolding/context
/conductor:conductor-new-trackStart a feature/bug with spec and plan
/conductor:conductor-implementExecute the plan

(The 2025 note listed /conductor:setup, newTrack, implement, revert; command names and the two new commands changed.)
