Conductor (conductor.build)
Name collision
Not the Netflix/Orkes workflow engine (Conductor (orchestration)), not the marketing SEO tool (Conductor AI), and not Google’s Conductor spec tool (Google Conductor). Probably the same product as the older stub Claude Code Conductor (a Claude Code GUI), though that stub does not name its source.
Mac app that runs Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode agents in parallel, each task in an isolated workspace (own branch, worktree, terminal) with diff review, PR creation and merge in one place.
- Platform: Mac client; the docs FAQ says it is “not available for Windows or Linux yet”. Since 2026 it also offers Conductor Cloud: shared cloud workspaces that run agents in isolated Linux sandboxes (docs, 2026-10-08).
- Closed source: proprietary. No public source repo (the vendor GitHub org searches return nothing); the Customer Terms (2026-03-30) grant a licence and reserve all rights, with only incidental open-source components.
- Maker (settled 2026-10-08): the YC company “Conductor” (Summer 2024 batch, San Francisco, founders Charlie Holtz, CEO, and Jackson de Campos) IS this product: the YC profile’s website is conductor.build and its tagline is “Run a team of coding agents on your Mac”. The legal entity is Melty Labs, Inc., a Delaware corporation (Customer Terms, 2026-03-30; the Privacy Notice, 2026-06-12, names “Melty, Inc.”), which explains the earlier “Melty Labs” name. Funding: Conductor’s own blog says a **24M raised in total.
- Agents (docs): “Conductor lets you run Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode in parallel”.
- Billing: subscription model with Free, Pro, Teams and Enterprise tiers; the Free tier covers parallel agents and local workspaces on your Mac, paid tiers add cloud infrastructure, collaboration and admin features (conductor.build/pricing, 2026-10-07). Agent usage still needs your own Claude/Codex access.
- Community view (2026 tier list, A tier; opinion): “smoothest start, but closed and Mac only”.
