Gemini 4 Argon (announced today, restricted)
Announced 2026-09-30 as Google’s “new frontier model” for software engineering, enterprise knowledge work (legal, finance) and cyber defense. Availability: not generally available. It is rolling out first to trusted cyber defenders via Google’s Fairwind Program (access reportedly “without cyber guardrails”); broader access “as soon as possible”. As of 2026-10-02 it still does not appear on the Gemini API models page (page dated 2026-10-01) or changelog.
- Introductory pricing (cached input 95% off), then a higher standard rate afterwards (blog).
- Output limit 1M tokens (up from 64K; confirmed by Google’s own posts).
- Benchmarks claimed by Google (vendor, not independently verified): DeepSWE v1.1 77.9%, CWE-bench v1 68% (tied first), AutomationBench 51.3% (#1), LVBench 91.7%.
- Succeeds Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber in the cyber line.
