Pattern
Three Flash iterations shipped inside a single 14-week window (3.5 → 3.6 → 3.7) while the 3.5 Pro
tier slipped repeatedly and was cancelled outright. The generation’s centre of gravity is
therefore the fast, cheap tier rather than a flagship — and 3.7 Flash’s price cut plus free API
tier is the release that mattered most commercially.
Six releases with divergent fates — three shipped Flash tiers, one cancelled Pro tier — make this
generation harder to summarise as a single model than most.
