SAP Signavio

Process modelling, management and process-intelligence suite, now part of SAP’s business process intelligence portfolio. It is also the tool category for collaborative BPMN modelling in enterprises (bpm-modelling-tools).

Acquisition

SAP announced in January 2021 it would acquire Signavio; SAP’s filing says the deal closed on 5 March 2021 at €949 million (press reported about $1.2 billion at announcement, and SAP did not disclose a price at the time). SAP described Signavio’s process modelling and governance as the missing piece for an end-to-end process transformation suite covering design, benchmarking, gap analysis, improvement and change management, and made business process intelligence a key part of RISE with SAP. Signavio’s approach is model-centric, whereas SAP’s own insights come from its applications.

Take

Natural choice for organisations on SAP (sap-company, enterprise-resource-planning) that want governed process models linked to real system data; includes process-mining-style analysis (process-mining, process-mining-tools). Competes with celonis on mining and with bizagi and others on modelling. EPC heritage: epc-and-aris.
