Celonis
Process mining and “process intelligence” vendor, one of the best-known commercial products in process-mining. The product description is part of this note; there is no separate tool page.
Company
Founded in 2011 by Alexander Rinke, Bastian Nominacher and Martin Klenk, who met as students at the Technical University of Munich. The three received the German Future Prize in 2019. Roles have changed over time; check Celonis for current leadership.
Product line and object-centric mining
Celonis launched Object-Centric Process Mining at Celosphere 2022 and announced its Object-Centric Data Model in May 2023: prebuilt object types, event types and relationships common to most businesses, extensible with custom attributes, so that orders, deliveries, invoices and payments are tracked together rather than as separate single-case logs. The concept is explained in process-mining.
Wil van der Aalst, the field’s best-known researcher, is reported as holding a Chief Scientist role at Celonis.
Position
Munich-founded commercial process-mining vendor whose analyses are typically built on ERP data (sap-company, enterprise-resource-planning). Competitors and alternatives are in process-mining-tools; SAP’s own offering is sap-signavio.
