Managed Deep Agents (2026-08-19)

LangChain shipped a coordinated release covering: Intro, Conceptual, Quickstart, Skills, Tools,
and an Instructions & Context Hub — plus integration examples with Browserbase’s Stagehand for
web browsing and a production deployment guide.

Features

  • Long-horizon agent execution rather than single-turn tool calls
  • Skills and Tools abstractions with a context/instructions hub
  • Managed hosting — LangChain runs the infrastructure
  • Web browsing via Browserbase Stagehand integration
  • Production deployment patterns documented first-party

Notes

The framework predates the managed product by a year: Deep Agents JS shipped August 2025, and
the architecture was openly described as inspired by Claude Code’s agent loop. The 2026 release
is the commercialisation of that.

Coverage is first-party heavy (LangChain’s own channel), with the notable exception of a customer
case — Harmonic reporting 4× user retention after building on Deep Agents.
