AgentDesktop
by Solo.io (Idit Levine and Christian Posta)
Open-source AI tool visibility and management layer for desktop fleets.

Announced 2026-09-01. Tackles “AI agent and tooling sprawl” — the proliferation of AI
coding tools, MCP servers, and API keys across employee workstations with little to no
central oversight. Complements traditional MDM rather than replacing it.
Features
- AI tool and MCP server discovery/inventory across a fleet of workstations
- Centralized configuration management for tools like Claude Code, Codex, and other AI harnesses
- Sandbox policies translatable into each tool’s native config format
- Binds sessions to user and device identity
- Issues short-lived, tool-specific credentials via gateway injection (paired with agentgateway)
- Session observability with identity attribution
- Incremental adoption path: run standalone first, add controller management later
Superpowers
Gives IT/security teams visibility into what AI tools and credentials are actually
running on employee machines — without requiring heavy-handed MDM lockdown. It supplies
the user/device identity half of the picture; agentgateway consumes that
identity to handle credential injection, policy enforcement, and usage logging on the
traffic side. Together they form Solo.io’s answer to unmanaged agentic-AI tool sprawl.
Pricing
Apache 2.0, open source, free.
