Agentic Flow (Reuven Cohen)
By Reuven Cohen (rUv). ruvnet/agentic-flow is an open-source (MIT) orchestration toolkit built around Claude Code and the Claude Agent SDK (claude-agent-sdk), with model routing to cheaper providers, self-learning hooks and many MCP tools (per the README).
Current state (checked 2026-10-02)
- Repo: ~815 GitHub stars (2026-10-05), MIT, not archived, v2.0.0-alpha line; README claims 66 specialised agents and 213 MCP tools (GitHub README).
- README performance figures (“2.49x-7.47x speedup” flash attention, “+12.4% recall” GNN query refinement, earlier “150x-12,500x faster search”, “80-90% cost reduction”) are the author’s own claims, unverified.
- Not the same repo as Claude Flow. Claude Flow (
ruvnet/claude-flow) was renamed Ruflo (ruvnet/ruflo, MIT, ~73.9k stars (2026-10-05)) in January 2026 (the Ruflo README itself states “Claude Flow is now Ruflo”; the date and the trademark reason come from secondary sources), while the npm package and CLI kept the nameclaude-flow(GitHub; secondary sources: DEV Community, Pasquale Pillitteri). Ruflo’s README ties it to Cognitum. One’s agentic architecture rather than naming agentic-flow. Earlier versions of this note treated “Agentic Flow” and “Claude Flow” as aliases; they are sibling projects by the same author, which is why both names stay as search strings.
What it is
- Per the README, a toolkit for “agentic engineering”: batch/parallel agents, swarm-style coordination, judge/distillation loops, provider and model routing (DeepSeek, Llama, local models, commercial APIs) and a local “agent booster” edit layer to reduce LLM calls.
- Components pitched in the README: SONA self-learning routing, HNSW vector search, reasoning/memory pipelines, background workers triggered by keywords, Rust to WebAssembly modules shipped as TypeScript/npm packages.
- Use cases shown in the author’s demos (not independently checked): porting native libraries (e.g. FANN) to Rust/Wasm, research pipelines with a judge agent, CI/CD auto-fix agents, data analysis flows (GenAI-Superstream), edge/IoT orchestration.
Pricing / distribution
Free, open source (MIT), distributed via npm/npx. No commercial pricing found.
Limitations and risks
- One-person project in alpha; tooling and UX evolve quickly and the repo/package naming is confusing (agentic-flow vs claude-flow vs Ruflo).
- Autonomous agents widen the attack surface; sandbox them and limit tool permissions (see computer-use-agents for the general risk framing).
- Judge loops may reduce but are unlikely to remove hallucinations (opinion).

- All benchmark and cost-saving numbers are vendor/author-reported; no independent benchmark found.
- Exact rename date of Claude Flow to Ruflo (January 2026) and the trademark reason are from secondary sources only. The agentic-flow README references claude-flow as an MCP server it can integrate, so the two projects are linked but separate repos.
- Latest npm version of
agentic-flownot checked (npmjs returned 403).
