Early investors included Genesis Partners and Opus Capital; later rounds up to a USD 100 million round in January 2020 that gave unicorn status, valuation above USD 1 billion (Wikipedia only; the Form D above shows a 2019 raise but no valuation; the Insight Partners lead and the investor names are not in the re-checked text). No change of control found in the sources checked.
- Scale: over 800 employees per Wikipedia (undated); the CEO-transition press release quotes Katz citing “$150M ARR”, positive EBITDA, and “more than 2,000 global companies” as customers (company claims, undated release).

AI strategy (as of 2026-10-05)
Sisense press release datelined NEW YORK, 2026-01-13 (primary, Internet Archive copy): Sisense Intelligence assistant “now broadly available” for all users; MCP server and bring-your-own-LLM “now available”; Sisense Managed LLM in private preview for select customers, “scheduled to be available to all customers in Spring 2026”. TechTarget covered the same announcement. Roadmap for the first half of 2026 emphasised more agents and assistants. Analysts quoted by TechTarget: Michael Ni (Constellation Research) praised the move beyond embedded chatbots to “intelligence plumbing”; David Menninger (ISG Software Research) said the additions keep Sisense competitive. (An earlier version also attributed a positioning-slipped remark to Menninger; it was not found on re-check and was removed.)
